Funeral director Pauline van der Wees from ’s-Gravenzand accompanied Jade Kops, 19, and Sterre van der Starre, 24, during the final phase of their lives and assisted their families. Jade died of cancer in April 2026, while Sterre died in August 2025 after euthanasia because of unbearable psychological suffering.

Documentary maker Matthijs Kleyn is making a film about the legacy of Jade Kops, who died of a rare form of cancer in April. He said he will explore the traces she left behind with her family and other people close to her. Kleyn described it as Kops' first film and said it will focus on seeing light and love even in the darkest times.
