Residents of Kraggenburg have launched the campaign “Together we give Jurre the space” to raise €50,000 for three-year-old Jurre Batterink and his family. The money is intended to help build a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor, as Jurre has a rare genetic condition that prevents him from walking or crawling and his care at home is becoming more intensive as he grows older. The renovation is not fully reimbursed. Residents from across the village are organizing fundraising activities. An autumn market at primary school De Fladderiep raised almost €800, according to the account of the campaign.
