House of B, a foundation founded by Khareem Wielingen, risks having to end its free weekly ballroom lessons for queer young people at the Bijlmer Parktheater in Amsterdam Zuidoost from 1 January 2027. The foundation said the lessons, held every Monday since January, also provide participants with a safe community and support around their identity.

House of B received €10,000 from the district and €15,000 from the city last year, but its application for funding for next year was not granted because it was submitted through the wrong channel, according to the district. The district said it is still considering how the activities can be financed before 2027, and that it is not yet known whether this will be done in the same way as last year.
