Frits Melt received the Medal of Honor from the municipality of Almere. Mayor Hein van der Loo presented the award on Wednesday in recognition of Melt’s decades of commitment to the city and his involvement in Youthland City, an outdoor playground where children can play, build cabins and take part in activities. The mayor said Melt brings people together through his commitment, energy and network. Melt is also a volunteer with Stichting Bos der Inverstandelijken and has played a role in the annual children’s commemoration on 4 May and the Indian commemoration on 15 August.
