The Steerrehuis, a children's home in Heerlen from 1945 to 1983, was the subject of a gathering of former residents and caregivers at the Limburg Society Archives Tracé. They shared both happy and difficult memories, including accounts of parents coming to the home to reclaim their children and a former resident who recalled feeling liberated when her mother came to take her home at the age of six.
