A large forest fire was reported to have spread rapidly through the reed fields of the Uros Islands in Lake Titicaca, Peru, amid strong winds and dry vegetation. The emergency was reported to threaten wildlife and the agricultural, livestock and tourism activities of communities around the lake, while a large plume of smoke was visible from a distance.
