Dozens of flights from Schiphol Airport were cancelled on Sunday because strong westerly winds meant that not all runways could be used, reducing the number of aircraft able to take off and land. The cancellations affected KLM, easyJet and Lufthansa flights, and passengers were warned to expect further cancellations and delays.

One report put the number of KLM cancellations at 149. It said affected passengers had been informed and would be rebooked on the next available option. Schiphol advised passengers to check information from their airline.
