Flevoland recorded 31,340 camera-detected traffic offences in the first eight months of 2026, 22% fewer than in the same period a year earlier, according to an analysis based on CJIB figures. The decline was attributed to a 24% fall in speeding fines, from 37,168 to 28,205. Red-light violations rose by 13%, from 2,777 to 3,135, and accounted for one in ten camera-detected offences in the province, the highest proportion in the Netherlands.
Flevoland reportedly had the largest overall decline in camera-detected offences in the country, apart from Groningen, while the national total rose by 11% to more than two million. The number of such offences increased particularly sharply in Drenthe and Friesland. The amount of Dutch speeding fines also rose by about 3% to 4% in 2026.
