Flevo Hospital reports financial recovery but says further strengthening is needed

Flevo Hospital in Almere reported improved financial results in 2025 compared with 2024, receiving a score of 3 and ranking 56th among 61 general hospitals assessed in an annual benchmark by consulting firm BDO. The hospital said the result was not yet sufficient to fund all necessary investments in staff, technology and digitalisation in the coming years.

The hospital said demand for care in Almere and the surrounding area is expected to grow as the population increases and ages. Its strategy for 2026 to 2030 focuses on employees, digitalisation, technology and cooperation with regional healthcare organisations. To create room for investment, it plans to organise care more efficiently, give patients faster access to appropriate care and discontinue activities that it says do not contribute to good care.
