Rotterdam’s municipal executive decided that the National Fireworks show at the Erasmus Bridge will go ahead during the coming year with traditional fireworks. The city had considered replacing it with a drone and laser show, but reported that there was insufficient time and budget to arrange that alternative.

The executive reserved more than €800,000 for what it described as a final edition, intended to provide an alternative to consumer fireworks ahead of the planned national fireworks ban in 2026.
