Fireworks accident at PSV championship celebration

A 17-year-old from Roosendaal was identified as a suspect in the fireworks accident at PSV’s championship celebration in Eindhoven in April. A 16-year-old from Breda was seriously injured after picking up heavy fireworks that had been lit and thrown to the ground by others; he lost two fingertips and suffered burns and hearing damage.

An 18-year-old suspect from Bergen op Zoom had previously reported to police. Police said their investigation into the person who threw the fireworks is complete and the case file has been sent to a prosecutor to decide whether to bring the case to court. A person previously sought in connection with the incident is no longer considered a suspect after the investigation indicated he was not the thrower.
