A major fire broke out on Friday night at the Kehlsteinhaus, also known as the Eagle’s Nest, on the Kehlstein near Berchtesgaden in Bavaria. The building was already ablaze when firefighters arrived, and about 200 emergency workers were deployed. No casualties were reported.

Police arrested a man shortly after the fire began. One report said police suspected arson, while another said the cause remains under investigation and it is unclear whether the suspect was connected to the fire.
