Jennifer Boersma, 27, and Dominick, 45, from Leeuwarden escaped with their baby daughter Daisy after a major fire broke out at the Bella Italia campsite on Lake Garda on Sunday morning. Jennifer woke shortly before 6 a.m. to screams and saw a chalet about four metres from their accommodation on fire. The family fled in time, but their car and most of their belongings were destroyed.
