A 27-year-old man from Groningen was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the attempted murder of a 24-year-old fellow resident on Zonnelaan in the Paddepoel district of Groningen. The incident took place on 7 June 2025.

He drove into the victim at high speed with a car and then stabbed him in the neck while the victim was defenceless.
