Farmers’ groups dissatisfied after talks on nitrogen plans

Farmers’ organisations LTO and NAJK remained dissatisfied after talks with Agriculture Minister Jaimi van Essen on the government’s nitrogen plans. They said they could not yet support the plans because they felt their requested changes had not been sufficiently addressed.

Gerben Boom, speaking for the young farmers, said the organisations did not see enough movement, while LTO chair Ger Koopmans described the meeting as difficult. The groups said they would consider their next steps.
