Police responded on Saturday morning to a report of a murder on Bishop Van Mierlostraat in Mierlo, deploying ambulances, a trauma helicopter, a police helicopter and a mobile medical team. Officers searched a home with a police dog and briefly detained a man, but found nothing wrong.

After receiving information about a second address in Mierlo, emergency services entered another home and briefly detained two people. That report also proved unfounded. Police scaled down the operation and are investigating who made the report and why.
