Utrecht will merge three residence-exclusion zones in the city centre and Lombok-Oost into one zone on 1 November. Mayor Sharon Dijksma made the decision after consulting police, supervision and enforcement services and other parties involved.

The measure, which allows police officers and enforcement officers to bar people from parts of the area, is extended for two years until 1 November 2028.
