The European Court of Auditors expressed concern about the design and oversight of the EU’s proposed multiannual budget for 2028–2034, including the risk of new debt, while presenting its report on the 2025 budget. It warned that the new budget could repeat shortcomings seen in the coronavirus recovery fund.
