Heracles Almelo appointed Eric Boersma, 37, as its new CEO. Boersma, previously head of expertise at the KNVB, is due to start on 1 December and will work with technical director Ernest Faber and financial manager Remon Enting.
He succeeds Rob Toussaint, who was sidelined at the end of last season. Heracles currently leads the Kitchen Champion Division.

Second-division club De Treffers beat Keuken Kampioen Divisie leaders Heracles Almelo 1-0 at Sportpark Zuid in Groesbeek in the first round of the KNVB Cup, advancing to the second round. Theo Janssen coached De Treffers. Mario Borac of Heracles was sent off for a second yellow card in the 55th minute. Sebastian van Bakel scored the only goal six minutes later, while Jari van Ginkel later hit the crossbar. Reports said Heracles made eight changes to its lineup; Janssen said the altered side had motivated his team.
