Swedish investor EQT acquired German-Dutch biotechnology company Qiagen for €10.8 billion. Qiagen is active in laboratory testing and molecular research for pharmaceuticals.

The transaction also involves Abu Dhabi's sovereign investment fund and the Canadian pension fund CPP Investments. Qiagen has its registered head office in Venlo.
