Enhanced supervision of municipalities over asylum reception
◆4 sources
Minister Bart van den Brink placed a further 21 municipalities under enhanced supervision because they were not providing enough reception places for asylum seekers under the Spreidingswet. The new group includes Weert, Meerssen and Maasgouw in Limburg, and Altena, Bernheze, Bladel, Heusden, Sint-Michielsgestel and Steenbergen in Noord-Brabant. The six Brabant municipalities brought the provincial total under supervision to 13; 42 municipalities had already been under active supervision nationwide.
