The Dutch Data Protection Authority lifted its enhanced supervision of the province of South Holland. The watchdog had placed the province under extra supervision at the start of 2024, partly over its insufficient handling of a data breach.

The authority said it now has sufficient confidence that South Holland will soon have its privacy policy and information management in order.
