The Bornefonds has reportedly begun distributing free emergency packages to about 400 low-income households in Borne, Zenderen and Hertme. The packages include an emergency radio, a power bank and water-treatment tablets.

The initiative was presented as a response to the households’ lack of money to prepare for a crisis, with the view that waiting for national government support could leave action until an emergency had already begun.
