The announced freeze on new electricity-grid connections is affecting Hittech Bicha in Winterswijk, according to director Koen Mentink. The company makes components for chip-machine manufacturer ASML in Veldhoven, North Brabant. Mentink said the company wanted to order two machines but could not because it lacked sufficient electricity capacity.

He also said he could hardly ask employees to generate electricity by cycling to power the machinery.
