Dutch toxicologists warned against picking wild mushrooms after reports of poisoning, hospitalisation and death. Wild mushroom foraging is becoming more popular, while advocates said it can be done responsibly with someone who has certain knowledge of mushrooms.

They advised people not to forage alone and to do so only with someone who can identify mushrooms with certainty.
