A Dutch snack bar on the main street of Bordeaux remained standing during riots on Saturday, according to the account. Its 27-year-old, partly Dutch operator, Bastien, closed the business and stayed in front of the façade until late at night to prevent it from being demolished. He said groups of teenagers were tearing everything down and shouting, while the street was left damaged and looted.
