The Netherlands took the top two places in the women’s under-23 time trial at the European Cycling Championships. Nienke Vinke won the gold medal, while fellow Dutch rider Megan Arens finished second at a clear distance.

Demi Vollering won the women’s European road title in Slovenia, a week after winning the world title. She attacked on the final climb of Možjanca and rode solo for about 15 kilometres to the finish in Šenčur, completing the 130-kilometre race from Ljubljana to Šenčur. Puck Pieterse took silver after winning the sprint from the chasing group. Marlen Reusser of Switzerland was third, ahead of Italy’s Elisa Longo Borghini. Vollering won the European road title for the second consecutive year.
