The organisation of the Dutch Podcast Awards adjusted the nomination text for Silence to Sea, a podcast submitted by BNNVara, after coverage of the issue. In the series, maker Roeland Wendel claimed to have made discoveries about a 1915 murder case in Katwijk, but people involved said the claim was untrue.

Author Robert Haasnoot has since added a disclaimer to his website. The account did not specify the revised wording of the nomination text.
