Dutch House backs green-gas obligation

◆2 sources

The Dutch House of Representatives approved a law requiring energy suppliers to cut CO2 emissions by supplying an increasing share of green gas to households. The measure passed after PRO helped the coalition parties secure a majority. Opposition parties, including PRO, raised concerns that using manure as a source of green gas could sustain intensive livestock farming. PRO and several other parties also want to limit any increase in household energy bills resulting from the law.
