Dutch gas storage filling target
◆2 sources
The Netherlands met the European minimum target for gas storage ahead of winter. Staatsbedrijf Energiebeheer Nederland (EBN), which had been asked by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy to help replenish supplies, reported that storage facilities were 64% full and that it had completed its filling task.
The government had made nearly €1 billion available to cover the costs. The earlier national aim of filling storage to 80% was reduced after it was deemed unfeasible; one report said the stock had subsequently risen to 65.5% and that further filling would probably continue.
