Appeal against planned Swedish wolf hunt

The Dutch Wolven Belgen Foundation appealed decisions by five Swedish county administrative boards to allow the killing of 72 wolves in 2027. It also asked for the hunt to be suspended until a court ruling is issued.

The planned cull is intended to reduce Sweden’s wolf population from 355 to 220 animals. The Administrative Court in Luleå will first decide whether the Dutch organisation has standing to bring the case in Sweden and whether to grant the requested suspension.
