The Dutch arts sector has reportedly raised strong concerns about Media Minister Rianne Letschert’s plans to reform public broadcasting. Hundreds of critical responses were submitted in recent weeks, amid fears that the Dutch public broadcaster’s cultural programming will be disrupted if the NTR becomes part of the NIS and its cultural responsibilities are transferred to member broadcasters.
The plans are still under consideration, and the reported concerns focus on the future of the NPO’s cultural offering.
