Disruptions to monthly air-raid siren test in the Netherlands

◆2 sources

The monthly air-raid siren test did not sound at noon in several parts of the Netherlands on Monday. In the Utrecht Safety Region, covering 26 municipalities, no siren sounded; the test was delayed by two minutes in Gooi and Vechtstreek and by seven minutes in Flevoland. The disruptions were attributed to pressure at regional emergency control rooms. A button still has to be pressed manually to activate the sirens.
