The Islamic call to prayer, or adhan, was being broadcast three times a day in the Parijsch neighborhood of Culemborg, reportedly causing annoyance among some residents. A residents’ action committee had been formed, while mediation between the neighborhood and the mosque board had stalled. One resident said he was no longer involved in the dispute and was moving away.
