George Michael’s guitar from the music video for “Faith” was due to be auctioned by Swords auction house on Thursday, prompting opposition from the family of Siobhan Bailey. Bailey, who was Michael’s personal assistant and confidante for years, died in 2014. Her estranged husband, Ian Belcher, inherited the items and wants to sell the guitar and other belongings held in her name. Bailey’s brother, Gerard Bailey, asked him to stop the auction.

The auction’s reported status was not otherwise given.
