Boaz Cahn and Oumaima al Abdellaoui, who are Jewish and Muslim respectively, have spent three years visiting schools, universities and companies through their foundation Deel de Duif to facilitate conversations about Israel and Palestine. They set rules for those discussions, including accepting that participants may be hurt by what is said. After the October 7 attacks, they and other Amsterdam residents were invited by Mayor Femke Halsema to her official residence for a discussion about Israel and Palestine. The initiative aims to continue dialogue.
