In Delft, researchers are developing small flying robots resembling bees, dragonflies, birds and flying squirrels. Although the drones cannot see, they are reported to avoid collisions using whisker-like sensors and flexible, finger-like structures. Researcher Salua Hamaza said the team first wants to devise an appealing design and then determine the drone’s function.
