Death of former speed skater Amund Sjøbrend

Former Norwegian speed skater Amund Sjøbrend died after a short illness at the age of 73. His death, which occurred on Monday, was announced on Tuesday. Sjøbrend became European all-round champion in Deventer and world all-round champion in Oslo in 1981. He was part of Norway's "Four S'en" alongside Sten Stensen, Kay Stenshjemmet and Jan Egil Storholt, a group credited with helping popularise the sport in Norway.
