De Bonte Piet buys a new location in Midwoud

Wildlife shelter De Bonte Piet has reportedly bought an old farm on the Broerdijk in Midwoud as its new location. Manager Raymond de Ruijter said the site is 17 times larger than the current facility and is on the same street. The move is still dependent on obtaining the necessary permits. De Bonte Piet began as a small bird shelter in 1988 and collected about 6,000 animals last year, including birds, hedgehogs, rabbits and hares. The larger site is intended to enable the shelter to help more animals.
