Danish cleaner was trapped in a Copenhagen basement cell for more than three days

A Danish cleaner was reportedly trapped for more than three days in a basement cell at the former Supreme Court building in Copenhagen after the door closed behind her on 16 September. The cell doors could not be opened from the inside, and she had no telephone. Her husband found her bicycle at the building after she went missing and called the police. She was taken to hospital after being freed.

The locks on all the cell doors were subsequently replaced so they could only be locked from the outside. The cleaning company said she received psychological support, was doing well in the circumstances and had returned to work at her own request.
