An older male cyclist was reportedly injured in a collision with a bus at about 11:30 on the roundabout where Mayor Kasteleinweg meets Van Cleeffkade and Oosteinderweg in Aalsmeer. He was taken to hospital with injuries that were not known, and police are investigating the incident.

The roundabouts on Mayor Kasteleinweg have been associated with repeated crashes since traffic lights were replaced by roundabouts. A municipal study into the safest alternative began after a fatal crash in 2025, but a new design is not yet in place. The municipality says the study will determine whether the roundabout is substantially changed, while the current layout may remain the least bad option.
