A woman cycling on Strijpsestraat in Eindhoven fell into a deep sewer well during sewer works on Tuesday morning and was injured. Emergency services removed her from the well, after which she was taken to hospital; the severity of her injuries is unknown.

The street was closed because of the works. One report said construction barriers around the openings had been removed shortly before the incident. Police and the municipality are investigating what happened.
