Curaçao court considers reopening Rombley murder case

A court in Curaçao is examining whether the criminal case against Vernond Rombley should be re-examined. Rombley was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2016 for the murder of a minimarket owner on the island. Lawyer Geert-Jan Knoops argues that Rombley may have been wrongly imprisoned for years.
Knoops said experts had determined the likely height of the shooter and that Rombley was seven centimetres taller, which he said supported the case for reconsideration.
