Council of State advice on religious symbols worn by enforcement officers

The Council of State said a proposal by VVD parliamentarian Claire Martens-America to ban enforcement officers from wearing religious symbols needs stronger justification. It found that the proposed legal amendment does not sufficiently explain why it is necessary.

The proposal concerns religious items including headscarves and yarmulkes worn by boa's, or special enforcement officers.
