Air France-KLM chief executive Benjamin Smith said a wave of bomb threats had disrupted air traffic in Europe during the week. He said he had not previously seen so many threats at the same time, particularly in what appeared to be a coordinated pattern.

Smith said the company hopes the threats will not discourage consumers from flying. He said it has not seen any such effect so far.
