The construction of about 2,000 homes in Utrecht has become uncertain following plans to remove the Ring Utrecht project. The municipality said the homes cannot be built under the current conditions because planned noise-control measures along the motorways are no longer certain. The issue mainly concerns new buildings in the Merwede Canal Zone.
