Plans for hundreds of new homes at the site of an HWW Zorg nursing home in The Hague’s Houtwijk have caused concern among residents. They fear high-rise residential buildings, traffic problems during construction and the loss of greenery, including more shade in the neighborhood.

Robert Barker of the Party for the Animals said residents had not been sufficiently involved. He described the plans as large-scale and said they would have major consequences for the neighborhood.
