Two Sinterklaas programmes are scheduled in close succession during the coming weeks: Het Sinterklaasjournaal airs at 6 p.m. on NPO 3, followed around 6:30 p.m. by Piettijd! on RTL. Robert ten Brink, who plays Sinterklaas in the RTL programme, said the overlap would not be confusing.

A pedagogue warned that the closely timed programmes could give children too many stimuli, particularly around dinnertime.
