Collision involving Bergfjord off Norway

◆5 sources

The cargo ship Bergfjord collided with another freighter and an oil tanker in the Valderhaugfjord near Ålesund, Norway, during the night from Saturday to Sunday. No one was injured, but the vessels sustained material damage. The other ships were reported to be Norwegian and Faroese. The Bergfjord had initially been identified as a Royal Wagenborg ship. A later report said that the Delfzijl-based company had chartered the vessel rather than owned it. The extent of damage to the Bergfjord remains to be determined; no leak was reported.
