The municipality of Nijmegen ordered the owners of the Splendor factory to stop using the building, citing inadequate fire safety. The complex contains dozens of workspaces and two homes, and its residents and businesses must in principle leave by 5 December.

The owner is challenging the decision. The building’s users now need to find other places to live and work.
